With 23 years of experience, the team at The Furniture Shack understands the importance of using the right materials to ensure outdoor furniture can withstand the elements. Here, we outline the materials we use to keep our outdoor suites in excellent condition for as long as possible.
Frames
Powder Coated Aluminium
Our top choice for outdoor furniture frames is powder-coated aluminium. It offers unmatched longevity, visual appeal, and strength. The majority of our range is aluminium-based, as we trust its ability to endure the harsh outdoor conditions, particularly in South East Queensland.
Teak
Our second choice for frames is teak wood. After extensive testing of various timbers such as eucalyptus, acacia, and suar wood in both rain and shine over multiple summers, we've concluded that teak is the only wood that meets our standards.
Cushions & Rope
Olefin Fabric
We've noticed some retailers using basic polyester for outdoor lounges, with some even claiming a sun guideline of only 300 hours. This is unacceptable. We use Olefin fabric as our standard due to its strength and durability. Additionally, we also utilize Sunproof and SpunPoly fabrics, which have proven to withstand our weather conditions through years of testing.
Additional Features
- Raised Feet: We add feet to our suites to ensure they are not sitting in water, which helps in prolonging their life.
- UV Textilene and UV Polypropylene: We use UV-protected Textilene in our slings and UV-protected polypropylene for our outdoor chairs. Without UV protection, furniture intended for indoor use won't hold up outside.
At The Furniture Shack, we only use materials that we know are worth investing in, ensuring that you are safeguarding against the weather. Choose the leaders in outdoor furniture—choose The Furniture Shack.
